Fireworks victim loses her sight

ALOR STAR: Nor Syafiqah Abdul Halim, 10, who was injured when fireworks exploded in her face last week, has become blind in her right eye.
Her father, Abdul Halim Abdullah, 51, said doctors told him that his daughter had lost her vision as her eye was badly damaged in the incident.
On Aug 23, Nor Syafiqah was waiting in front of her house in Taman Sri Abadi, in Jalan Kuala Kedah here, for some friends to walk together to perform the tarawih prayers when the "rocket" fireworks hit her right eye.
A group of boys had been playing with fireworks a few houses away from her house in the 8pm incident.
Halim said that he had lodged a police report and would be taking legal action soon.
